Create custom apps fast without being a developer

  • Welcome screen lift-off. Start creating a custom app from the Welcome screen, or get inspired by one of the new and professionally-designed app templates.
  • Table templates. Simply type what you need to track and Access uses table templates to deliver an app that does the job. Access handles the complexities of fields, relationships, and rules so you can concentrate on your project. You'll have a new app with a natural UI up and running in no time.
  • Create and run legacy databases. Enjoy support for your existing desktop databases (ACCDB/MDB).

Experience apps that are easy to use even as they grow with your business

  • Gorgeous simplicity. Never again get "lost in the data." A standardized app framework makes navigating apps familiar and easy. And the apps you rely on every day remain easy to use and professional-looking even as data volume and complexity grow.
  • Related items control. Take a peek at additional relevant information in the database without changing screens. You always have the right context when reviewing or entering information.
  • Autocomplete control. Entering data accurately is a breeze with drop-down menus and recommendations that appear when you begin typing.

Share your data and control access to it more easily

  • New Office App model. As an IT manager for your company, you'll love the new Office App model. Access apps are accessible on SharePoint or an on-premises server via a browser, and users don't need Access installed to use apps you've created.
  • Data stored in SQL Server. Access apps are stored in Microsoft SQL Azure/Server so your data is now protected by disaster recovery and back-up and restore features. SQL Azure/Server also provides your business or department with long-term scalability of mission-critical business data.
  • Office 365 deployment. You can now use SharePoint user access control and centralized app management features with Access apps.

What's new in Access 2013

What's new in Access 2013? In a word, apps. An Access web app is a new type of database that you build in Access, then use and share with others as a SharePoint app in a web browser. To build an app, you just select the type of data you want to track (contacts, tasks, projects, and so on). Access creates the database structure, complete with views that let you add and edit data. Navigation and basic commands are built-in, so you can start using your app right away.

Getting started with apps

  • Building an app
    Using your SharePoint server or Office 365 site as a host, you'll be able to build a polished, browser-based database app. Under the hood, Access apps use SQL Server to provide the best performance and data integrity. On the startup screen, click Custom web app. Note With Access 2013, you can still create traditional desktop databases from scratch. Or, try out a template to create an app, a desktop database, or an Access 2010-style web database.
  • Table templates
    Quickly add tables to your app using pre-designed table templates. If you're tracking tasks, search for the Tasks template and click it. If you see the multiple-table indicator next to a template, that means Access will add commonly used related tables for you so you can get started with a truly relational database. Access creates views for each table that display data from related tables.
  • External data
    Import data from Access desktop databases, Microsoft Excel files, ODBC data sources, text files, and SharePoint lists.
  • Opening in a browser
    When you're done designing, don't look for a compatibility checker or a Publish button. Your app is already live--just click Launch App.

UI created automatically

  • Navigation included
    Access apps save you the trouble of building views, switchboards and other user interface (UI) elements. Table names show up on the left edge of the window, and the views for each table appear across the top. All apps have a similar navigation structure, making it easier for people to learn and switch between apps. You can always add more custom views besides the ones provided by the app.
  • The Action Bar
    The built-in views each have an Action Bar with buttons for adding, editing, saving, and deleting items. You can add more buttons to this bar to run any custom macros you build, or you can remove buttons you don't want people to use.
  • Views easier to modify
    Apps let you put controls where you want them without making adjustments to the layout first. Just drag and drop--the other controls move out of the way to make room.
  • Callouts for setting properties
    Instead of searching through a property sheet for a particular setting, settings are available via callouts located conveniently next to each section or control.

New controls for working with related data

  • Related Items Control
    The Related Items Control provides a quick way to list and summarize data from a related table or query. Click an item to open a detail view for that item.
  • AutoComplete Control
    The AutoComplete Control looks up data from a related table. Think of a combo box that works more like an instant search box.
  • Drill-through links
    Drill-through links let you quickly view details about a related item. Access apps handle the behind-the-scenes logic to make sure the right data is displayed.

New deployment options

  • Permissions improvements
    Get more control over who can modify your app. SharePoint now comes with for 3 default permissions levels--Designer, Author, and Reader. Only Designers can make design changes to views and tables. Authors can change data but not the design, and Readers (you guessed it) can only read existing data.
  • Package and distribute apps
    Access apps can be saved as package files and then added to your Corporate Catalog or the Office Store. At the Office Store, you can distribute your app for free, or you can charge a fee and make some spending money.

Shipping Terms

Depending on availability of product, we will do our best to make sure you will receive your orders as quickly as possible; however we do not want to guarantee a service we cannot provide, and therefore have provided just for one option at the moment. If you absolutely need your order and cannot wait, please contact us to find out how soon it can be delivered.

If the shipping address is not the same as the billing address, then you must register the address with your card bank. Failure to do so could result in order delay or cancellation. This is to protect the cardholder. UKTechStore reserves the right to ship via alternate carriers (UPS, FedEx). Some packages will require a signature according to the driver's discretion. If part of your order has shipped, then there is no refund on the shipping cost for the order.

Shipping deadline

Orders received before 3:00 p.m. (GMT) Monday through Friday will normally be shipped that same day (payment permitting) on a best effort basis. Orders received after 3:00 p.m. (GMT) or on weekends or holidays will normally be shipped on the following business day.

UKTechStore does not guarantee the delivery date or time on any shipments under any circumstances. There is a charge of 20.00 for any refused shipment. Please make sure the ship-to address is current and accurate. Refused shipments will result in a 15% restocking fee.

Shipping Restrictions

We do not ship to APO or PO Box addresses. We ship throughout the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland and certain EU countries. UPS and Fedex does not deliver on Saturdays & Sundays.

Return Policy and Procedure

UKTechStore 30 day limited warranty is a defective exchange policy that provides for replacement (at our sole discretion) of software that has been confirmed as defective by either the manufacture or UKTechStore. Due to licensing and copyright laws, we do not accept returns on software once a package has been opened. Defective software will be exchanged for the same title only according to UKTechStore limited 30 day warranty described above. Terms and conditions may vary by product or manufacture. UKTechStore will assist customers whenever possible in gaining satisfaction with product manufactures Products returned for exchange must be in new condition, original packaging and include all disks, registration cards, packing materials and other accessories and be received within 30 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to refuse for return or charge a restocking fee for damaged or incomplete returns.

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization number. Please obtain a RMA number by sending an e-mail to rma@uktechstore.com. In your e-mail please include your original order number, the title of the product you wish to return, the condition of the products you would like to send back and the reason for the return. Please DO NOT ship product back without an RMA number. We WILL NOT be responsible for product that is returned to us without an RMA number. For all returns shipping is pre-paid by the customer.

If your return or exchange appears to be within our guidelines, we will then issue you an RMA number and ship-to address via e-mail within a week of your request. All RMA numbers must be clearly written on the outside of the package and must be returned to us within 15 days of the order date. Please note: issuance of an RMA number does not guarantee acceptance of your return or exchange. We cannot accept opened, non-defective merchandise for credit or exchange. OEM and DSP software cannot be returned.

Products for return or exchange must be in new condition with all accessories, packing materials, disks, key codes, cards, manuals and any other materials included. Returns should be sent freight prepaid by ground service. We will only reimburse the freight charges if we deem that the return was caused by our error i.e. incorrect product, defective product etc. All non-defective returns will incur a 15% restocking fee on the line item amount.

Once your purchase is completed and has been verified by our team, we will email you all details pertaining to your order.  Please allow up to 2-3 hours for processing of your order during regular business hours. Note that in certain cases processing can take up to 12 hours. For orders placed outside our business hours, you will receive your order details on the following business day.
